What do you believe you are worth?
Do you value you?
What is your best quality?
How are you gifted?
STOP and think about that for a second.
Shhhh – Be still and reflect on that.

.
Ok – Now I want you to write it down because we are going to come back to it.

Alright – Here we go.
I was talking with my mama today about life & I told her that my 30’s have been my favorite stage of life (not counting young childhood) so far. I have talked about this in prior posts as well. “Why do you think that is” she asked, “Is it because you have become stronger in your faith?” We visited about this for a while but I never really gave her my answer. You see – I have loved my 30’s because I learned to love myself. The me that He created. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely have my moments where I get frustrated with certain behaviors I have, questioned things, or even talk unkindly to myself. As a whole though – I love the person I know the Lord made me to be.
Why?
Well… Psalms 139:14 says – “I am fearfully and wonderfully made; His works are wonderful”
He made me for a Purpose – one He wants me to finish out with joy and grace. I can’t do that hating on myself. I can’t do that without accepting who God is and accepting the purpose He has in store for me. As I realized this, the more I fell in love with Jesus. The more time I spent with the Lord reading His Word, praying, and worshiping; the more I knew He had something more planned for me. The more I embraced this, the more gratitude I found in life and the more I fell in love with me.
You see… we cannot fully accept and love ourselves without taking time to get to know God and ourselves. I truly believe that the more time we spend with Him, the more we know who we are.
He created you, knows you better than anyone. He knit you together in your mama’s womb (Psalm 139:13). Think about it, you are unique. YOU ARE WONDERFUL! Not only that BUT He has plans for you, plans to prosper you (Jeremiah 29:11). He wants you to live fully, worthy of your calling (Ephesians 4:1).
There always seemed to be something missing before I began embracing this. AND, I will tell you – embracing it means CHOOSING to embrace it each day. When I decided to make this shift, to dig deeper and to not only find, but ACCEPT WHAT HE had for me:
I found me.
I found a new confidence – a God Confidence.
I found new joy.
I found hunger.
I found courage.
I found the treasure in my heart.
I found the ability to surrender.
I found peace.
I definitely have days I question myself or don’t do a good job of accepting who God wants me to be. Ask those who live with me! BUT, when I remember to keep my eyes on Jesus and don’t doubt that He knows better than me (Hebrews 12:2, Matthew 14:28-31) my courage and peace returns.
Embrace who you are by relinquishing control to your Savior. He knows you so much better. He will show you, who he has created you to be and He will help you love you when you love Him first.
Now remember those questions I asked in the beginning? I hope so, since I asked you to write your answers down. It’s time to look back at them. I encourage you to say this prayer:
Dear Lord,
You are so good and I thank you for loving me. You love me so fully, so unconditionally. Lord help me to see myself through your eyes. I desire to know who I am to you Lord. Help me to love me in a way that I can be my best self and live my best life to glorify You. I know that by doing this I will be my best for those around me, shining Your light. Lord, You have a purpose for me and that You have given me gifts and talents in life, I am excited to see how I will use my gifts to fulfill your purpose. Lord, fill me with Your love and your Joy. Help me to accept all You have for me and to let You guide me.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
Be blessed my friends.
Joyfully Yours,
Amanda
