Becoming Truer to Myself

This year I made a resolution to become truer to myself by becoming truer to my God. How do I do this? I spend time with Him. Get to know His Word and His instruction AND FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTION!! Well, try to...

I have had this very powerful nudge the last 6 months or so from God telling me He has something else planned for me. I knew, absolutely knew He was asking me to step out in faith and reach out to His world. To reach people and lead them to a more joyous life through Christ Jesus. Man this was scary! I found encouragement and excitement everywhere. I spoke to one of my pastors and he offered to help me get going if I wanted to do online ministry schooling. Many of my friends were excited for me, cheered me on and told me they could see it.

What happened next? The devil gave me doubts. When I shared it with my hubby he said, "as long as we can still pay our bills". Then, I got up inside my head and I questioned everything! There was the darn devil!

This started many months ago and all I ever did was write in the Notes section on my personal Facebook page. Life wasn't changing much... Life doesn't change if God nudges us and we ignore the nudges. Life doesn't change if He gives us an open door and we shut it. Life does change when we follow Him.

What am I going to do you may ask? I am going to run this race with endurance! I am bound and determined to work hard, shine His light, and let my work be His work! I know He has big plans for me. He confirmed that for me recently as I stood in my church bookstore and saw a book titled Out Live Your Life - You Were Made to Make a Difference by Max Lucado. I am not sure I really even opened the book. I grabbed it and I bought it! Now, as I am reading it, every page I turn My Best Friend Jesus says - "See Amanda, you are enough! You will make a difference! I made you and I planned a life for you. Follow Me!". God has been giving me some amazing opportunities lately and I know by grabbing them and running the race He has set before me that not only will my life change but I will help change others lives as well!

I am not perfect - only Christ is. I will make mistakes. HE is my Cornerstone, My Rock, My Salvation and Foundation so each time I fall down - HE will pick me back up!

Are you running a race of endurance? Do you have a passion to do something more? To be His ears? His hands? Run Baby Run!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne." Hebrews 12:1-2

My prayer for this week:

"Father God, I thank you that you love me and for the love You have given me to share with others. Place my delight in You and compel me to pray continually so that I will live and walk in Your Spirit. Help me to Run this Race You have set before me with endurance and to focus on pleasing You. Let my beauty be in the hidden person of my heart - gentle and quiet. Please Lord, replace any insecurities I have with the ability to trust You and rest in Your approval. Increase my desire to teach and model godliness as a wife, mother, friend, and supervisor. I thank You for my friendships I have with godly women that encourage me and hold me accountable. Let my love for those around me to be deep, sincere and sacrificial, as Yours is. Be my shield in mind, heart, and body. Thank You Father for all You have done and all You will continue to do. You know me better than anyone and I trust in You. I thank You Father than I can come to You in confidence, that if I ask anything according to Your Word You will hear me. In Jesus Precious Name Amen."
